Approaching 200 Years
We are approaching the 200th anniversary of the firm, having been located in the same building in the High Street in Godalming, Surrey, since day one.
Established in 1831 by Henry Marshall, the first mayor of Godalming, we have continued to thrive, our work mainly coming through personal recommendation from our loyal client base as well as professional referrals and internet enquiries. We take pride in giving a first class personal service, with excellent lines of communication between our departments, bringing together all areas of knowledge when required.
For Businesses & Individuals
We provide professional and clear advice to both businesses and individuals on a wide range of legal matters to local, national and international clients.
Our commercial lawyers deal with all aspects of commercial property work, land development, company/commercial transactions and employment law.
All the partners in our Private Client Department, dealing with wills, probate and trusts are members of , a specialist group of lawyers supporting and advising older and vulnerable people.
We have been members of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) since its inception, being one of the first solicitors’ firms in Surrey to meet their criteria. Our membership of this scheme, which covers residential property sales and purchases, provides our clients with certainty that we meet the stringent quality standards that membership of the CQS requires.
We are also members of the Nationwide Independent Solicitors Group which gives us access to experts in other specialist areas of law all over the UK.
